MCLEANSBORO (WSIL) — Hamilton County’s Kylee Vaughan makes it official, signs with SIU Golf.
What a high school career she had. During her four years at Hamilton COunty High School, Vaughan was a medalist 61 times. Vaughan was consistent in her game shooting under par for a round twenty times.
Vaughan won her share of tournaments as well. Four-time Black Diamond tournament champion, three-time regional champion, two-time sectional champion, three-time Massac Invitational champion, and two-time Marion Invitational champion.
Vaughan’s name will be forever remember at Hamilton County, she rewrote some school records. Her score of 69 is a school record for 18 holes and same with her 32 for 9 holes.
The three-time top 20 state finalist is ready to take her game to the next level.
“I’m so happy, all the work I put in, was really worth it and am really excited about this next level playing in college,” Kylee Vaughan said.
“It’s exciting when your kid tells you they want to play college golf and then it comes true,” Hamilton County Golf Coach Barry Vaughan said. “Just gratifying as a parent if not more as a coach. You’re excited any time a player goes on to the next level but especially when it’s your daughter.”
The 2 time sectional champ is ready to compete at the next level.
