Volleyball falls in GLIAC Match opener

UNIVERSITY CENTER — Northwood’s volleyball group misplaced a hotly-contested 20-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22, 15-10 match to Ferris State within the opening spherical of the GLIAC Match on Friday.

The Timberwolves drop to 8-5, whereas the Bulldogs enhance to 11-4.

Venera Kadriu led NU with 16 kills and 20 digs, whereas Grace Rekeweg had 12 kills and 17 digs, Mary Gallagher had 11 kills and eight blocks, Maya Ferland completed with 10 kills, and Macy Lintz added 52 assists and 15 digs.

The Timberwolves will face both Ashland or Grand Valley State within the comfort bracket Saturday at 1 p.m.


NU BASEBALL WINS BIG OVER PURDUE NORTHWEST

Northwood pounded visiting Purdue Northwest 10-4 in GLIAC baseball on Friday, bettering to 12-3 general and 4-1 within the convention and dropping the Satisfaction to 6-8, 0-5.

Derek Clark improved to 4-0 on the mound, going 7 1/3 innings and permitting two runs on seven hits and a stroll with 5 strikeouts.
